Meet Mike Guidry, The Multipotentialite
A friend of mine, a talented musician and woodworker (amongst many other things), first described me as a multipotentialite and shared this TED Talk with me. It described my life and gave me a new perspective on my experiences, which led me to write an email to Emilie Wapnick. I am someone with many interests and creative pursuits, and I have had many amazing experiences throughout my life that have led me to where I am today. I have done/been:

This is not an exhaustive list.
I’ve taken aspects from each of these positions and utilized them in my daily duties here at Solomon Advising. I’ve developed rapid learning and fast skill acquisition due to learning across multiple fields. I am able to combine ideas and solutions that others may not be aware of, as having been involved in multiple industries allows me to synthesize solutions to various problems.
My experiences in Education and Tech have been the foundation for the work I am currently doing along with my incredible peers. The realm of education, sports and so many other fields has also taught me to be adaptable, and working in a Level Four prison has taught me to connect and empathize with people of all walks of life. Furthermore, it demonstrated to me the great capacity people have for change.
Much like all my previous endeavors, I take part in many aspects of what we do here at Solomon Advising as I am involved in video production, SEO, analytics, ad development, social media ads management, writing content, event planning, solving tech related problems, vision casting for business development, Google Tag Manager implementation, and reviewing client candidates for employment, to name a few. This is also not an exhaustive list.
Working in these multiple roles, I get hands-on experience with the rest of the team, and it is exciting to share with them what I know as well as learn from them. The collaborative nature of our company is one of the things that gets me most excited about working here, because it offers us all a chance to absorb the knowledge and expertise from each other and grow as a result. From that, I can only imagine how the company will grow and expand into something beyond our wildest dreams.
When I’m not working, you can find me on the mat doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or spending time with my awe-inspiring wife and my four amazing kids, which are my greatest accomplishments in life. Outside of any sports feats or work highlights I’ve been a part of, being a husband to my wife and dad to my kids is the greatest and proudest thing I’ll be a part of.
