Meet the Team: Daniel Frost, the Nature-Loving Artist
Growing up, my aspirations were as vast as the universe - literally. I dreamed of working in the mountains or even in space. Whenever approaching a new project, I find ways to incorporate my love for space and nature into my designs, blending my personal passions with professional endeavors.
My career in graphic design was not something that happened overnight. It was a path marked by self-taught lessons on paint.net, studying it in school, and finally, landing my dream job at Hume right after high school.
Nestled in the majestic Sequoia National Park, I both lived and worked at Hume, where I served as a graphic designer for nearly five years. This experience was nothing short of a blessing, as I was part of a dynamic marketing team. Our core group of six would expand to fifteen during the summer months, and together, we were tasked with maintaining the visual essence of Hume across various media, including print, video, and photography. These experiences equipped me with invaluable skills in client communication, project management, and dedication to my craft.
Along with the practical skills in graphic design, my journey has been shaped by intuition, a trait that I find incredibly useful in my current role. It aids me not just in design decisions but in devising creative solutions and fostering positive interactions.
Today, as the Visual Communications Strategist at Solomon Advising, my role is to ensure our company's visual and communicative consistency, coherence, and creativity. To put it simply, I make sure everything looks good and makes sense – and while I mostly use a computer, crayons are not entirely off the table!
Looking ahead, I'm thrilled about the potential growth and development at Solomon Advising. Unlike many companies that lean towards outsourcing, Solomon is committed to building and nurturing its team, a quality that resonates deeply with me. As I grow in this role along with the company, I hope to one day be leading a team of graphic designers, instilling what I have learned to help guide future artists.
When not bringing our client's visions to life, you can find me riding my 70’s yellow Schwinn stingray bicycle, spoiling my niece and nephew, suddenly boarding a plane to go hike a national park, or tent camping with friends at the beach.
