Meet Jasjot Kaur: Our Forward Thinking Executive Assistant

As far back as I can remember, I have always been passionate about expanding my horizons and constantly pursuing knowledge. This has been an aspect that has shaped many of the milestones in my life, from what I wanted to be growing up to my current role with Solomon Advising.

As a kid, I dreamed of working for NASA or becoming a scientist. While I did not become an astronaut or rocket scientist, my degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior (NPB), has still allowed me to continue my efforts to broaden my perspective of the world. This has extended into each job I’ve had as well.

Before joining Solomon Advising, I was able to experience my first foray into the working world as an Operations Manager for my family’s business, SB Trucking Inc. This role taught me the importance of efficiency, stakeholder communication, and handling various administrative tasks. It was a hands-on experience that gave me a solid foundation in business operations and management.

In addition to my time at SB Trucking, my time as a Copy and Features Editor for The Zephyr newspaper was instrumental in preparing me for the dynamic environment at Solomon Advising. Juggling multiple responsibilities, meeting deadlines, and staying proactive were skills I developed and honed during this period. These experiences have been invaluable in my current role.

Today, as an executive assistant and junior project manager at Solomon Advising, I ensure our team stays on track with ongoing tasks and schedules, manage clients' social media accounts, maintain daily client communication, assist with recruiting efforts, and handle special projects. Basically, I help our team remember what they need to do and talk to our clients every day to make sure they are happy.

One of the aspects I love most about my job is getting to know each client’s unique missions and goals. It’s exciting to see Solomon Advising grow and bring on more wonderful clients, and I look forward to contributing to this journey. My adaptability has been a key asset in this role, helping me handle the varied and numerous responsibilities that come my way.

When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying the outdoors with my friends, family, and my dog, Bruno. I love attending concerts, listening to live music, and traveling whenever I get the chance. I have also pushed myself to expand my knowledge by joining a book club to help make time for reading. This was a personal goal I set for myself, and I look forward to seeing how I can grow from it.  Additionally, I have a budding interest in ceramics and pottery, which I hope to revisit soon.
